Targeted support for talented young professionals

bzd awards scholarship for further education

Berater Zentrum Dorotheergasse (bzd) for the first time this year awarded a further education scholarship. This grant is aimed at enabling young professionals to undertake continuing education projects. bzd will offer this scholarship yearly in the future, since "education does not end with graduation." as bzd founder and CEO Dr. Marlies Buxbaum says. "A university degree is an essential basis for a self-determined career. However, many young professionals miss  a unique extra twist in order to succeed with employers, which a continuing education with focus on practice can provide." elaborates the management and executive development consultant. She therefore resolved to offer an award aimed at filling this gap.

The first awardee

The first winner of the bzd scholarship is Mag.a Silvia Samhaber, BA, born 1985 in Upper Austria. Mag.a Samhaber studied anthropology at University of Vienna and social work at FH Campus Vienna. Since 2012 she is handling PR and project management at AOeF, a provider of women's shelters across Austria.

"The bzd scholarship enables me to attend a course on PR at WIFI Wien to complement my practical experience in this field. Thanks to this award I will be able to take on this endeavour without financial worry and feel supported and validated in my professional path by the jury's decision. I am looking forward to an exciting three months on the course." said Mag.a Samhaber.
